Rep. Haley Stevens, who represents Michigan’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent events affecting her community and the broader manufacturing sector.
On July 27, 2025, Stevens responded to an incident in Traverse City by stating, “This is horrific and I’m praying for everyone’s safety and for the Traverse City community. I’m thankful for everyone who acted swiftly to capture the perpetrator of this awful attack.”
The following day, July 28, she commented on the death of Cedric Jones in Farmington Hills: “I’m devastated by the loss of Cedric Jones, a husband, father of six, minister and dedicated worker who was tragically killed by a wrong-way driver while working to keep our roads safe in Farmington Hills. My heart is with his family. We must do more to protect our workers.”
Later that same day, Stevens discussed challenges facing American manufacturing: “As a lifelong Michigander and the former Chief of Staff of the Auto Rescue, I’ve had a front row seat to the innovation and determination that drives America’s manufacturing communities. But I’ve also seen the threats: the Chinese government is subsidizing its auto industry and”
Stevens has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Dave Trott as representative for Michigan’s 11th district. Born in Rochester Hills in 1983 and currently residing in Birmingham, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from American University.
