Rep. Haley Stevens, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 11th district since 2019, recently addressed several pressing issues through her social media platform. Her posts span from fiscal policy criticisms to personal condolences and political accountability.
On June 4, 2025, Stevens expressed concern over the Republican party’s actions in Congress. She stated, “Republicans say they don’t have time because they want to create chaos so you miss that they are adding $2.4 trillion to the deficit and kicking 11 million people off their health care.” This statement highlights her criticism of fiscal policies she attributes to Republicans.
The following day, on June 5, 2025, Stevens conveyed sympathy for the families of Gadi Haggai and Judith Weinstein. She wrote, “My heart is with the family of Gadi Haggai and Judith Weinstein, whose bodies have finally been recovered after over a year and a half. Were it not for Hamas’ brutal terror and violence on October 7, they would be coming home alive to their loved ones.” She concluded with an appeal for the return of hostages.
Later that same day, Stevens shared a video message where she challenged Linda McMahon regarding decisions made by Trump’s administration affecting Michigan’s manufacturing sector. She urged for stability in economic policies by stating, “WATCH: Yesterday, I took on Linda McMahon for the Trump’s administration’s chaos, reckless cuts, and threats to Michigan’s manufacturing industry and job training programs.” She called for efforts to reduce uncertainty while emphasizing the need to lower costs and save jobs.
Haley Stevens was born in Rochester Hills in 1983 and currently resides in Birmingham. An alumna of American University with a BA degree, she succeeded Dave Trott as a representative of Michigan’s 11th district in Congress.
