Rep. Haley Stevens, representing Michigan’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on legislative progress through a series of tweets. These messages detailed the passage of several bipartisan bills she has been involved with and emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance research collaboration and security.

On March 24, 2025, Rep. Stevens announced via Twitter that she led the Science Democrats in passing eight bipartisan bills on the House floor, including two of her own initiatives. She stated: “I just led @ScienceDems in passing 8 bipartisan bills on the House floor, including two of my bills. All of these passed the House last Congress as well and the Senate needs to make them law!”

In another tweet posted shortly thereafter, Rep. Stevens highlighted one of her significant legislative achievements: “My DOE & NSF Interagency Research Act also passed to enhance collaboration between the Department of Energy and National Science Foundation to make sure the U.S. agencies are working together to develop next-gen technologies, secure supply chains, and train the future STEM”. This act aims at bolstering cooperation between major U.S. research entities.

Additionally, Rep. Stevens underscored efforts to protect national research infrastructure with her U.S. Research Protection Act: “My bill the U.S. Research Protection Act will secure our research agencies and academic institutions and ensure researchers can effectively safeguard against adversarial threats looking to co-opt our data and efforts.” The bill has successfully passed the House for a second time.
