Rep. Haley Stevens, U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 11th district since 2019, marked the anniversary of the 19th Amendment and highlighted her ongoing advocacy for workers and constituents in a series of tweets posted on August 19, 2025.
In a tweet commemorating a historic milestone, Stevens wrote on August 19: “105 years ago today, the 19th Amendment was ratified, granting women the right to vote after decades of hard-fought activism. Now, extremists like Pete Hegseth are questioning whether women should vote at all.
Not on my watch. I will always stand up for freedom and for every”. The post reflects her stance on defending voting rights amid contemporary debates.
Later that day, she expressed appreciation for local workers following a visit to Flint Gas City. On August 19 she tweeted: “Thank you to Consumers for the tour of Flint Gas City! Michigan has the best workers in the world, and I want them to thrive as we move forward. In Congress, I’ll keep fighting for our next generation of workers.”
Stevens also addressed constituents in Michigan’s 11th District with an announcement about an upcoming event. On August 19 she posted: “Michigan 11! I am hosting a tele-town hall — stay tuned for more info!”
Haley Stevens has represented Michigan’s 11th district in Congress since replacing Dave Trott in 2019. Born in Rochester Hills in 1983 and currently residing in Birmingham, Stevens holds a Bachelor of Arts from American University.
