Walled Lake Consolidated Schools recently issued the following announcement.
Under the direction of Cyrena Keating, the Geisler Middle School National Junior Honor Society has continued to support the Friends of the Wixom Public Library with their Fall and Spring Book Sales.
The student volunteers earn community service credit hours in exchange for assisting with setting up and organizing displays, and moving boxes of books.
Melissa Pittel of the Wixom Library said, “ This continued partnership is proving to be popular with the kids. I must say we enjoy having the students help us out, we are so proud of them and really appreciate their help!”
The group celebrates with pizza, water and cookies and are invited to take home three or four free books from the library's young adult collection.
