West Bloomfield School District issued the following announcement on Oct 21.
Congratulations to Alma Tatem on being awarded the Jennie Finch Empowerment Award along with a $10,000 scholarship through the Breakthrough Series this past weekend in Florida. The award, presented by ARM & HAMMER, is given annually to four young women who demonstrate positive characteristics through their participation in several MLB-led softball programs. Alma will also receive a trip to the 2021 World Series where the winners of this award will be recognized prior to a game.
Laker Nation is extremely proud of all that Alma has accomplished and is thrilled that her hard work, passion, charity, and dedication have been honored with this award.
