A school safety summit brought together administrators from Oakland County’s 28 school districts along with experts in school safety, prevention and response, law enforcement and mental health. The event was hosted by Oakland Schools’ Superintendent Dr. Wanda Cook-Robinson, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard and United Wholesale Mortgage, which provided the meeting venue. Event partners also included Oakland Community Health Network. The meeting, which was held Monday, Oct. 3 was closed to the public. Invited guests included Oakland County chiefs of police; Oakland County fire chiefs and school superintendents from Oakland County.“
This was a great launch to developing a collaborative county-wide approach to school safety,” said Oakland Schools’ Superintendent Dr. Wanda Cook-Robinson. “Oakland Schools has been intentional in making today’s discussion about safety our first order of business as we start the new school year.”
