The Walled Lake Consolidated School District invites the community to the 24th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023 at Walled Lake Northern High School (6000 Bogie Lake Road, Commerce, MI 48382) starting at 5 p.m.
The evening's events will include a Multicultural Dinner complete with ethnic food from around the world prepared by local restaurants from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and an exhibition of student work from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The program will begin at 6:15 p.m. and will feature keynote speakers from the InterFaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit. The program will also include performances by student choirs, presentations by several students about their “Express Yourself” projects, and recognition of this year’s Alec Bender Friend of Diversity Award recipients.
