On Sunday, Feb. 16, former Detroit Catholic Central High School standout Evan Haeger’s current college team, the Houston Cougars, won 8-7 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

The game took place at Schroeder Park. This was their third matchup against the Golden Gophers this season.

The Cougars’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at Evans Diamond at Stu Gordon Stadium against California Golden Bears.
