The Convention of States will be represented at the Jackson Gun Show.
The Michigan team of the Convention Of States project (COS) will be hosting an information table at the Jackson Gun Show on Aug. 28-29.
Dr. Rob Borer, an events coordinator for COS will be there, along with other COS volunteers, to explain COS and how people can get involved to help save their country from the ever-increasing power grab by the federal government and return that power back to the states and to the people.
The aim of the COS project is to call a convention of states for the purpose of amending our U.S. Constitution. The Founders included a provision in Article V of the Constitution to address the precise problem we have today. That is, an out of control federal government that will not impose limits on itself.
When that happens, the Founders said, the states (who granted the power to the federal government in the first place!) can go around Congress and propose amendments to put the federal government back in its limited power box. The Convention of States project seeks to do this by calling a convention of states limited to proposing amendments in three areas; 1) limits on federal spending; 2) limits on federal jurisdiction; and 3) term limits on elected officials, judges and bureaucrats.
Thirty-four states must pass identical applications to create a “convention.” So far, the organization’s resolution has passed in 15 states. When an amendment is proposed, 38 states will need to ratify any changes to the Constitution for these amendments to become law.
Borer is a husband, father, chiropractor and real estate investor who signed the Convention Of States Petition several years ago, but did not actively participate in the movement until late last year, when he became convinced that the country was dangerously out of line with its founding documents and vision.
“I’d seen a steady, gradual slide away from the Founders’ vision over the years, but in the past year or so I saw the bold, undisguised march toward totalitarianism, and knew I had to do something. At around the same time I received an email advertisement from COS asking for candidates to be considered for the job of Events Coordinator. I knew I would be a perfect for the job, having presented at hundreds of fairs and informational shows to publicize our chiropractic office,” he said.
A devout Christian, Rob saw God’s calling in that invitation, and knew he’d found a place where he could make a difference and help save the country. He now averages at least two to three events (Town Hall meetings, gun shows and fairs) per month across the lower half of Michigan.
Come out to the gun show, meet Rob and learn more about the Convention of States Project and how you can do your part to help save the country.
