South Lyon Police Department issued the following announcement on Mar 16.

An example of Officer Barbour ensuring the well-being of one of our citizens. He wasn't dispatched to perform the follow up after the initial call. He initiated it on his own: Address and Name were excluded

I went to LOCATION to check on INDIVIDUAL. I did a welfare check on INDIVIDUAL several weeks ago. At that time he was having a difficult time with the holidays, the anniversary of his wife's death and the loss of his job. I provided him with some information for some resources that may be able to help.

Today INDIVIDUAL seemed to be in good spirits. He informed me that he is attending grief counseling and has a new job.

Excellent job Officer Barbour!
