The 4th Annual Farmington Area Juneteenth Celebration is returning in-person to celebrate a bigger and more inclusive Juneteenth 2022 for the entire Juneteenth weekend.
Everyone is invited to bring family and friends from across southeast Michigan. The first area Juneteenth event, begun in 2019 by Rev. John Burns, brought to the community the first Black-centered celebration.
The theme is “UNTIL ALL OF US ARE FREE…” to commemorate the Emancipation Proclamation’s ending of slavery in the seceded states of the U.S. and to celebrate the joys of liberty, educate the community about our heritage and promote positive cultural interaction.
