Rep. Haley Stevens, who represents Michigan’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, used her social media platform on September 12, 2025, to highlight new legislative initiatives aimed at supporting auto workers and improving public safety in Michigan.
In a post made at 15:55 UTC, Stevens stated: "Our auto workers are essential to Michigan, and I’m here to make sure they are protected. This is why I introduced the Union Auto Workers Job Protection Act."
Later that day at 18:26 UTC, she reiterated her commitment to union labor in the state by posting: "You deserve better. Here in Michigan, we understand just how important our union workers are. That’s why I’m fighting for you with my UAW Job Protection Act."
Addressing concerns about severe weather events affecting the region, Stevens posted again at 20:46 UTC: "Our weather is getting more unpredictable every year. Tornadoes are striking the Upper Midwest with alarming frequency, including right here in Michigan. Keeping Michiganders safe is my top priority. That’s why I introduced the TWISTER Act: to modernize and expand NOAA’s tornado"
Stevens has represented Michigan's 11th District since replacing Dave Trott in Congress in 2019. She was born in Rochester Hills in 1983 and currently resides in Birmingham. Stevens holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from American University.
Michigan's economy has long been tied to its auto industry and union workforce. The unpredictability of severe weather events like tornadoes has also become an increasing concern for residents across the Upper Midwest.
