Rep. Haley Stevens, who represents Michigan’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, has used her social media platform to address recent federal funding decisions, announce legislative action, and highlight support for local workers.
On September 29, 2025, Stevens posted that she had joined the entire House Michigan Democratic Delegation in contacting Attorney General Pam Bondi regarding changes to public safety grants. She wrote: "I sent a letter alongside the entire House Michigan Democratic Delegation to @AGPamBondi, demanding answers on the DOJ’s decision to rescind over 360 federal public safety grants. This decision cuts funding from community violence intervention, victim services, and addiction" (September 29, 2025).
Later that day, Stevens commented on health care policy and research funding while signaling forthcoming legislative steps: "Enough chaos. Enough conspiracies. Enough cuts to lifesaving cancer research. Enough of the skyrocketing health care costs. I’m drafting articles of impeachment against @SecKennedy" (September 29, 2025).
On September 30, she highlighted labor achievements at a state event: "This year’s Bricklayers’ Convention showed what makes Michigan strong: skill, pride, and solidarity. I’ve fought—and won—for workers, from passing the Butch Lewis Act to securing union jobs on infrastructure projects. I’ll always stand with Michigan’s workers." (September 30, 2025).
Stevens has served in Congress since replacing Dave Trott in 2019 and is known for her advocacy on behalf of workers and public safety initiatives in Michigan’s 11th District. Born in Rochester Hills in 1983 and currently residing in Birmingham at age 39, she holds a BA from American University.
