South Lyon Community Schools issued the following announcement on May 18.
The South Lyon Community Schools’ Board of Education reviewed two finalists for the Superintendent position, Dr. Matt Outlaw and Mr. Steven Archibald.
The two finalists reviewed were:
Matt Outlaw, Ph.D Dr. Outlaw has led the Brandon School District as its superintendent for the past six years. Prior to Brandon he served Grosse Pointe Public Schools as a high school assistant principal, athletic director and principal. He began his career in Novi Public Schools as a high school teacher and dean of students.
Steven P. Archibald Ed.S Mr. Archibald has been with Livonia Public Schools throughout his career, serving as a high school and middle school teacher, high school assistant principal and principal, and central administrator. He has been in central administration for nine years, serving in his current role since November of 2017.
The Board reviewed all of the feedback forms that had been submitted by staff, students, community members, and parents. In a vote, 7-0 the Board voted to extend the contract to Mr. Steven P. Archibald. To learn more about South Lyon Community Schools, visit www.slcs.us
