*UPDATE* Subject Identified in “Stranger Danger” Incident

The Farmington Hills Police Department has identified the suspect involved in the “stranger danger” incident reported to have occurred on December 7, 2022.

After speaking with the parents of an additional child who had also been approached, the area was canvassed by detectives along with uniformed patrol officers. The information gained during the interview with families led investigators to a resident of an apartment complex. A 71-year-old-male resident of the Polo Club Apartments was contacted and interviewed by detectives regarding the incident. The man was cooperative in answering all questions. No criminal activity was discovered. Currently, there does not appear to be a danger to children in the area or the public at large.

Chief Jeff King credits the quick resolution to the thoroughness and professionalism of the patrol officers who responded and detectives who investigated this incident.
