Rep. Haley Stevens, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan's 11th district, has shared her views on proposed tariffs and energy policies through a series of tweets. Stevens, who succeeded Dave Trott in 2019, is known for advocating policies that benefit Michigan workers and families.

On January 21, 2025, Rep. Stevens expressed concerns about the potential economic impact of proposed 25% tariffs. She stated, "Blanket tariffs on our neighbors and trading partners would severely damage Michigan’s economy. It would jack up costs for MI-11 families on everything from tomatoes to gas."

In a follow-up tweet on the same day, she conveyed hope that these proposals were merely rhetorical. She emphasized her commitment to supporting beneficial policies for her constituents by saying, "Let’s hope this is just bluster and rhetoric. Let’s hope there’s a better plan. But no matter what, I will always use my voice and my vote to support policies that help Michigan workers and families."

On January 23, 2025, Rep. Stevens commented on remarks made by Secretary Granholm regarding industrial policy and energy competition with China. She supported Granholm's stance by tweeting, "Sec. Granholm is 100% right. Pretending it’s 1950 means America doesn’t win the 21st century competition for energy, quality jobs & innovative mobility solutions. We can’t abandon good industrial policy; otherwise we are ceding the energy future to China."
