Rep. Haley Stevens, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan's 11th district since 2019, recently shared her concerns on social media regarding actions taken by President Trump. Born in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and currently residing in Birmingham, Stevens holds a BA from American University.

On January 28, 2025, Rep. Stevens expressed her views on recent developments concerning President Trump's administration. She stated that "Over the past week, President Trump has tried to flood the zone and enact unconstitutional and illegal changes to our government by pausing funding and firing nonpartisan civil servants who provide the services and oversight Americans rely on."

In another post made on the same day, she emphasized Congress's role in financial matters: "Congress has the Constitutional power of the purse. Congress, not the President, makes laws and appropriates the funds. Stopping the disbursement of Congressionally-approved funds is unconstitutional and not the checks and balances our framers’ intended."

Further elaborating on her stance against these actions by President Trump’s administration, Rep. Stevens warned about potential economic impacts: "These unconstitutional and illegal orders will impact our economy and the first jobs report will show the unfortunate ramifications of these actions."
