Rep. Ryan Berman (R-Commerce Township) recently discussed his accomplishments for 2019 in the Michigan Legislature.
Berman announced in a Facebook post an op-ed article that he had written in The Oakland Press. In the article, he reviews what he considers to be his principles, which include government transparency and “supporting reforms that make it easier to live and work in” Michigan.
“I’ve strived to uphold them in my first year representing residents of southeast Michigan," he wrote.
One of the pieces of legislation that he talked specifically about was House Bill 5015, which he sponsored. The bill would require that the salary information for public employees in the state be publicly available. He said that the bill would “give taxpayers easy access to information on where their money is going.”
Berman also discussed his work to reform car insurance and personal injury protection reform. Other topics included the public's access to information and criminal justice reform.
Berman is in his first term as a Michigan State Representative for District 39.
