The Oakland Street contractor anticipates beginning final restoration efforts Monday, May 9, 2022. This work will take place in all areas disturbed by project construction operations.
No sod is proposed to be used in the restoration process so it will take time for grass to completely grow back. Additionally, the mesh that is currently visible in restoration areas is biodegradable and will not harm landscaping.
While the contractor is responsible for proper and complete restoration, we kindly inform residents that full restoration can be reached even faster by not running any equipment or vehicles over restored areas and gently watering restored areas further. If you have not yet turned on your sprinkler system to verify all necessary repairs have been made, we ask that you do this soon. If you encounter any issues with it please reach out to one of the contacts listed below.
Please keep children and pets away from the construction operation. Construction activities, and the associated equipment that goes with it, is attractive to small children and can be dangerous. Please keep children away from the equipment, removals, mass grading, underground utility installation, fresh concrete, and hot asphalt.
If you have any specific questions regarding this work, please call the City Public Works Department at (248) 473-7250, Mr. Mike McNutt, Engineer for OHM, (313) 516-4735, or Mr. Austin Downie, Engineer for OHM, at (734) 466-4437
