Would you like to make the holidays special for a local senior? City of Farmington Hills Senior Adult Supervisor Teresa Jergovich is looking for Secret Santas to take part in the annual Adopt-a-Senior Program.
Recipients come from case management files or Fire and Police Department referrals. The seniors may be experiencing financial or health hardships or might be alone at the holidays with no family. In 2021, the City’s Adopt-a-Senior program provided 481 older adults with holiday goodie baskets that lifted their spirits and provided holiday cheer!
To participate, contact Teresa Jergovich at tjergovich@fhgov.com or 248-473-1826. She will email you a form where you can choose the number of seniors and designate men or women. After that, you’ll get a wish list with requested items such as household supplies, personal care items, cold weather apparel, non-perishable food, and holiday candy.
All items should be delivered to the Costick Center, located at 28600 Eleven Mile Road, by 3 p.m. on Friday, December 9.
