City of Novi recently issued the following announcement.
Here's the latest from the Great Lakes Water Authority on the Water Main Repair. Crews continue to work diligently to repair the 48-inch water transmission main that broke in the area of 14 Mile and Drake on Oct. 31. As of November 16, crews have implemented a solution to fully isolate the valves on the broken pipe and have successfully dewatered the site and begun initial steps in the repair.
Concurrent with this repair, GLWA is undertaking a proactive physical inspection of the length of transmission main that is now isolated for the repair to check its overall condition while it is available. Results of this inspection will determine the exact timeframe for returning the main back to full service. We expect to be able to provide further updates on Dec. 1.
Throughout this process, impacted communities will continue to have water flow. However, it will continue to be at the lower level they have been experiencing since the main broke.
GLWA will conduct a full analysis to determine the cause and any further assessments needed once all work is complete.
NO communities impacted are currently under a boil water advisory. We will be certain to share when more information becomes available.
