Rep. Haley Stevens, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan's 11th district since 2019, shared several updates via social media on May 8 and May 9, 2025. These updates reflect her engagements with local leaders, her attention to international affairs affecting constituents, and her criticism of current administrative actions.
On May 8, Rep. Stevens expressed gratitude towards the Michigan Township Association for meeting with her during their visit to Washington. She noted the opportunity to connect with local leaders from various parts of Michigan, including Burt Township and Coldwater Township. In her post, she stated: "Thank you to the Michigan Township Association for making time to meet with me during your trip to Washington! I appreciated meeting with local leaders from every corner of our state–from Burt Township all the way down to Coldwater Township."
Later that day, Stevens addressed concerns regarding the Indian and Pakistani-American communities in Michigan amidst ongoing situations in India and Pakistan. She encouraged affected Michiganders to enroll in a safety program designed for travelers: "Michigan’s Indian and Pakistani-American populations are both such important parts of our community, and my team has been monitoring the ongoing situation in India and Pakistan."
On May 9, Rep. Stevens criticized what she described as chaotic actions by the current administration impacting educational institutions like the Library of Congress. She praised Dr. Carla Hayden's leadership at the Library while condemning perceived efforts undermining education: "This is ridiculous and yet another example of the unnecessary chaos this administration is causing."
