6:00 SPECIAL BUDGET REVIEW MEETING
After a discussion about the amount to be bonded for the Farmington Road Streetscape, City Manager David Murphy presented the proposed the City of Farmington FY 2022/23 Budget to Council for their comments and questions. This was just one part of an annual process in which department heads submit budgets to the City Manager who then meets with all department heads, assesses requests, and proposes a city budget for Council’s approval. The City’s fiscal year runs from July 1 – June 30, and the budgeting process begins in December/January. Per the City Charter, next year’s budget must be approved by June 20th. This Budget Review meeting allowed Council to request changes and receive clarification to the proposed budget before it is brought to Council in June for final approval.
