Tara Khami,Pleasant Lake Elementary Parent and Playground Supervisor, received a Golden Apple award at the May 5, 2022 Board of Education meeting. Principal Nayal Maktari nominated her because she exhibits a positive attitude, a genuine love for working with children and consistently puts the needs of children first. She arrives to work happy with a positive attitude and leaves with a smile.
She has a genuine love for working with children that is obvious to anyone that has had the pleasure of working with her and is extremely flexible when it comes to helping children and those that serve them.
Tara is innovative and has taken the time on many occasions to rethink processes and routines that make our children's experience at school safer and more enjoyable.
She often does things for children that no one is even aware of and she does she does not advertise it. Nayal Maktari said: “There are just too many things to include that reflect the selflessness that Tara exhibits on a consistent basis. While Tara is a great employee, she is an even better person that we are blessed to have working with the children of Pleasant Lake Elementary.”
