City Wide Open House Saturday, October 8 from Noon to 3 p.m.

Rain Date Sunday, October 9

Come join the fun at the City of Farmington Hills Open House on Sunday, October 8 from noon to 3 p.m. on the City Hall campus at 31555 West Eleven Mile Road at the corner of Eleven Mile and Orchard Lake. Here are just a few of the exciting things to do at the FREE Open House:

Fire Department

• Climb on fire trucks, practice escape plans in the Smoke House, try on a firefighter’s uniform, run through an obstacle course, and learn about the National Fire Prevention Week theme “Fire Won’t Wait. Plan Your Escape.”

• Learn the basics of CPR, defibrillator use, and tourniquet training, see kitchen fire and Christmas tree fire demonstrations, and watch a Jaws of Life extrication.

Police Department

• Sit in a police car, meet Dozer the K-9 Police Dog, visit the Crime Scene Lab, meet with Evidence Technicians, see a Drone demonstration, and more.

• Tour Police Headquarters, the jail, and the 9-1-1 Dispatch Center.  

Division of Public Works

• Climb on an excavator, road grader or dump truck, and decorate a snowplow with chalk.

• Learn about recycling and enter to win a street sign with your name on it.

Special Services Department

• Bounce in a Moonwalk, do a craft project, play games, and win prizes.

City Clerk’s Office

• Register to vote and get informed about the statewide general Election on November 8. 

NEW! This year’s Open House will feature a Food Truck Rally in the City Hall parking lot! Open House visitors can park in the east parking lot at Oakland Community College located off Orchard Lake Road and take a free shuttle to City Hall.
