Now is the time to think about voting by mail for the November 8th election. Some points to remember for those who opt to vote by mail:
>In order for us to issue a ballot, we must have a signed ballot application. Applications are available here: t.ly/n2w8 or can be picked up from the Township.
>Voters should begin the absentee voting process as early as possible. Time is of the essence!
>Due to unpredictable mail delivery times, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND voters turn in applications and ballots to the 24 Hour Drop Box at the Township.
>The Clerk's office and drop box can be found at the temporary Township offices at the old fire station at 250 W. Livingston Rd.
>If mailing, please allow AT LEAST a week for delivery.
>We will begin mailing ballots near the end of September. If you don't receive your ballot by mid-October, contact us or come into the office to get a replacement ballot.
>Voters can check the status of their absentee application or ballot at Mi.gov/vote to see if it recorded as received.
>Ballots cannot be issued to anyone except the voter (family members can’t pick up ballots for each other).
>The last day we can mail out ballots is Friday, November 4th.
>The deadline to receive an absentee ballot in person is 4:00 pm on Monday, November 7.
>Our office is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 5th to assist voters.
>Ballots have to be received by the Clerk’s office by 8:00 pm on November 8th in order to be counted. We appreciate voters returning the ballots as early as possible so that our work can be completed efficiently.
>Both the application and the ballot envelopes must be signed by the voter (we verify the signature against the signature on file).
>Precincts will be open for voting in person on election day 7:00 am - 8:00 pm. Look up your precinct location at Mi.gov/vote
