One charged in Slocum Street shooting

The Farmington Public Safety Department is pleased to announce that a suspect has been charged in the shooting on Slocum Street that occurred on November 1, 2022.

Farmington Public Safety Detectives along with members from the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team (DFAT) arrested Matthew Miquel Jones, a 40-year-old resident of Farmington Hills, who has been charged by the Oakland County Prosecutors Office with Assault with Intent to Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Jones was arraigned in front of Magistrate Michael Sawicky of the 47th District Court. A plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf and a bond of $1,000,000 Cash/Surety was given. PRESS RELEASE (Attention News Desk) November 7, 2022 Jones next court date will be November 16, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. for a Probable Cause Hearing at the 47th District Court.

The Farmington Public Safety Department is asking for help from the public in determining the relationship between Matthew Miquel Jones and the pictured Ford Fusion. The Ford Fusion has heavily tinted windows on the sides and rear window. The license plate was removed on the date of the incident. Anyone with information about this vehicle is asked to call the Farmington Public Safety Department at 248-474-5500, Ext. 2239.

No more information will be released at this time in regard to this incident, as it is still an active and ongoing investigation.
