Rep. Haley Stevens, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 11th district since 2019, has used her social media platform to address issues impacting Michigan workers and families in a series of posts made on July 29 and July 30, 2025.
On July 29, Stevens criticized recent trade policies under former President Trump, stating in a post: "Michigan’s workers shouldn’t foot the bill for reckless trade policies. Trump’s tariffs are now raising costs costs by 4.5%, hitting local suppliers, jobs, and paychecks. I’m working to ensure our trade policies put our workers first and keep Michigan manufacturing competitive." In another post later that day, she reiterated her commitment to prioritizing state residents: "I’m always going to put Michiganders first. That’s why I’m going to continue to call out trade deals that hurt our workers and industries at home."
On July 30, Stevens marked the anniversary of Medicaid’s signing into law with a statement highlighting its impact on Michigan: "60 years ago today Medicaid was signed into law. It now covers 1 in 4 Michiganders, keeping our children healthy, supporting rural hospitals, and helping families thrive. I’ll keep standing up for the care hardworking Michigan families count on."
Stevens has represented Michigan's 11th District since replacing Dave Trott in Congress in 2019. Born in Rochester Hills in 1983 and currently residing in Birmingham, she holds a BA from American University.
