Rep. Haley Stevens, who represents Michigan’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on social media this week addressing issues ranging from Social Security to cancer research funding.
On August 14, 2025, Stevens marked the anniversary of Social Security by noting its significance for Michigan residents and contrasting her position with that of former President Donald Trump. She wrote, "90 years ago, Social Security became law. Since then, it’s never missed a payment. Now over 2 million Michiganders count on it.

The following day, Stevens addressed Secretary Kennedy Jr., voicing concern about potential funding cuts: "My message to Secretary Kennedy Jr. is simple: Stop with the cuts threatening cancer research.

Stevens has served in Congress since replacing Dave Trott in 2019 and is known for her advocacy on issues affecting Michigan residents. Born in Rochester Hills in 1983 and currently residing in Birmingham at age 39, she holds a BA from American University.
